Anesthesiology Department and Operating Suite

Anesthesiology Department

The Anesthesia Care Team consists of physician anesthesiologists ,who also specialize in intensive care , and non-physician nurse and midwife anesthetists. The Team’s responsibilities involve:
1Before operation
Patient preparation for safe anesthesia – ambulatory anesthesiologic consultations at the Hospital Outpatient Clinic

During a consultation appointment you will be asked about your medical history, so that the physician anesthesiologist can work with other members of the Team to develop the anesthesia plan that is safe and most effective for you.

You will be informed about every aspect of your anesthesia plan and instructed how to prepare for your surgical procedure.

After your admission to the Hospital, right before the operation, the physician anesthesiologist will meet with you again to review your medical condition and to make sure it enables the administration of the selected type of anesthesia.
2During operation
Anesthetization for major operations and obstetric or gynecologic procedures,

Patient safety is the issue of utmost importance for the entire Anesthesia Care Team. The physician anesthesiologist, assisted by a nurse or midwife anesthetist, will take care of you throughout your operation. We do our best to alleviate the discomfort associated with each surgical procedure.

We have the latest-genetation equipment necessary to perform anesthesia and to monitor the patient’s vital parameters and we administer the most modern anesthetics.
3After operation
Early post-operative care and supervision (including post-operative pain management)

After the surgery you will still remain under strict supervision and meticulous care in a post-operative recovery room which provides 7 beds with complete post-operative monitoring facilities.

You will stay there until you can be safely transferred to your department.

Our hospital follows the current standards for the assessment and managemet of post-operative pain.
We will establish, in collaboration with you and your family, a personalized pain management plan tailored to your needs.
We are proud to have been granted ”The Pain-Free Hospital” Certificate.
